LA RACIONALIDAD DE LA CIENCIA
DE AXIOMA A PROBLEMA

Quando a Filosofia da Ciência era entendida conto reconstrução lógica da pesquisa científica, a racionalidade da ciência não estava em questão. Como o “giro” historicista naquela disciplina, a convicção de que a ciência seja racional tornou-se objeto de revisão. Neste trabalho lembro as raízes culturais da noção tradicional da racionalidade da ciência e menciono as diversas formas em que a mesma tem sido criticada nas últimas décadas. Assinalo também os novos aspectos dessa noção revelados pelas criticas. Finalmente, indico os problemas que a atual Filosofia da Ciência tem que enfrentar conto consequência da mudança no estatuto epistemológico daquela noção.
