Abstract

In thIs text it is argued that the discussion concerning the justtficability of moral judgements impties a question that can not be solved by means of a conclusive answer. From the analysis of some fundamental concepts that are current in the moral debate, the author puts forward a critical examination ot two ethical pardigms. Firstly the Ethical Scepticism is examined in the thesis that there are not justifications to moral judgements Secondly it is examined the Ethical Positivism, with special reference to the theory that morality belongs to the realm of concrete facts. It is also argued that Positivlsm and Etical Scepticism are not refuted theortes. However, these two positions can not face most of the criticism stated to some of their impltcations, The text concludes with the sugestion that a conjecturalist interpretation of the meaning of rational theories states the question of the justification of moral judgements in between Positivist views and the Ethical Scepticism. in this sense, moral judgements are provisional, and remain like that for ever, once there is always the possibility that a final justification will never be found.
