The article analyzes the children's Magazine "Ciência Hoje" understanding it as a knowledge carrying pedagogica/ material whose approach form revea/s a conception of infancy by which it /ook for to form children. ln this perspective it exceeds a doei/e understanding of infancy, since it was organized and edited according to scientific assumptions, to be, in elementary way, fomented in the infant. This possibility is made through two items, among the seven ofthe magazine, which are stories and games. Besides being being understood as a pedagogical material, this magazine is studied as a member of the universe of the called playful culture.
