The freedom as a christian interpretation key of the sartrean moral

Abstract

In this study we reinterpret the Sartrean doctrine of alterity as a key to transcendency, by phenomenologically reading its stelar moments. We indicate that one can talk of both continuity and evolution in Sartrean thought, since the idea of liberty, which
is the corner stone of his philosophy, continues to be the main conductive thread in many of his proposals in relation to alterity.
From an hermaneutic perspective we perceive compatability between Sartrian morality and Christian morality, in both
conflictive and non-conflictive human relations. We conclude that the moral project constructed on the moral ideas of Sartre,
especially in Cahiers and in his last interviews, is not contradictory to the Christian view of life.
