Abstract

This text aims to argue the complementary relation established between the domains of Time and Spirit, in the experience of Fifth Empire. For Father Antonio Vieira, the Reign of Christ bases itself as a theandric Empire, that is, as a simultaneously temporary and un-temporary instance that intends to equally ennoble Man’s both ethic and spiritual perspective in mundane life as well as in sacred experience. In this sense, Christianism presents itself as a solution to the illnesses of the World to the same extent as to the illnesses of the Spirit.
