Perception as revelation of the world: Merleau-Ponty’s Phenomenology
Keywords:
Merleau-Ponty, phenomenology, perception, revelationAbstract
This article presents an understanding of Merleau-Ponty’s thought based upon the comprehension of the notion of perception as revelation of the world. According to existential phenomenology, it considers that the concept of existence while being-in-the-world constitutes the core from which reality must be elucidated. In this sense, world is the place of philosophical thinking. This article analyses the following topics: appropriation of the world by the body: the perception; existence as presence and instauration of meaning; behavior and language: live dialectics.
