O impacto da gestação do segundo filho na dinâmica familiar

Este artigo examina algumas questões teóricas e achados de estudos empíricos acerca do impacto da gestação do segundo filho na dinâmica das relações familiares. Com base numa perspectiva sistêmica, destaca-se a relação conjugal, o relacionamento genitor-primogênito e o papel da rede de apoio social. Examina-se ainda o impacto sentido pelo primogênito no período de transição para a chegada do irmão. Apesar das incongruências entre os estudos, muitos autores assinalam que, já durante a gravidez, os membros da família iniciam o processo de adaptação para a constituição de uma família com dois filhos. Contudo, as mudanças vividas nesse período apresentam particularidades com relação às alterações surgidas após o nascimento do bebê. Além disso, as interações e relações familiares durante a gestação podem desempenhar um papel fundamental na adaptação da família após o nascimento do segundo filho.
