Resumo

Esta revisão mostra a correlação positiva entre os níveis lipídicos plasmáticos e a incidência de doenças coronarianas e explica os mecanismos, pelos quais o colesterol dietário altera os níveis do colesterol plasmático, e também as alterações dos níveis das lipoproteínas plasmáticas, principalmente, da LDL e VLDL consideradas aterogênicas.
