TEACHJNG IN EARLY CHILDHOOD: A PLACE FOR CHILDREN, THEIR RIGHT TO PLAY

This paper reflects on conceptions of childhood and play in early childhood education, that is, the importance of viewing early childhood as a social rights issue, and looking at childhood education institutions as places where children have the right to play. These reflections are the result of the Praxis Study Group, leading to broadening our vision through study of the literature, exchanging information and permanent discussions on practical experiences. They are also essentíal to changing our positions and daíly construction of education for early childhood.
