This paper presents some of the main conclusions from the author’s personal experience dealing with the matter of land regularisation of informal settlements in urban areas in several countries, working for different national and international organisations, as well as from the specific academic research and international literature on the matter, aiming to contribute towards the improvement of future public policies and regularisation programmes.
