CARACTERIZAÇÃO DO COMPORTAMENTO DE ALUNOS, EM SALA DE AULA, ATRAVÉS DE ESCALAS DE DESEMPENHO
Abstract
The objective of this work was to develop an instrument to make possible an analytical characterization of children's classroom behavior in response to the requirements and routines of this contexto Two first-year classes from a first grade schooI, were observed using the 'time-sampling' technique. Three observers registered the most frequent behaviors in classroom, each one attending to 30-minute observation sessions. These behaviors were grouped in descriptive categories of similarity; these categories consisted in bipolar adjectives meant to describe synthetically the groups of behavior observed. The 25 categories formulated were then grouped in conglomerates, according to the Typological Analysis technique of McQUITTY (Gendre, 1976), based on the similarity judgment made by 10 universitary referees. For the questionnaire construction, 5 conglomerates of characteristic scales were built. These scales related to different aspects of classroom behavior: discipline, participation, socialization, method and rhythm of work.
