APLICAÇÃO DA MODIFICAÇÃO DE COMPORTAMENTO EM CRIANÇAS DEFICIENTES MENTAIS EM SITUAÇÃO DE ESCOLA
Abstract
The objective of the present work was to apply behavior modification procedures to Mental Deficient children from educable and treinable levels in school situations, with the objective of producing alterations and elimination of undesired behaviours. Sixty-four disruptive behaviours were classified in 11 categories, namely: (1) Agressivity; (2) Disobidience; (3) Auto-Estimulation; (4) Stereotyped and repetitive behaviour; (5) Speech; (6) Motor Alteration; (7) Attention; (8) Compulsivity; (9) To call attention upon himself; (10) Sexual Activity; and (11) Phobias. For each inappropriate behaviour one or various procedures were selected to be applied in the school environment. The results were very sactisfatories considering that changes happened in all the performed categories.
