Abstract

The methodological challenge faced by the Psychology of Religion is to avoid the Reductionism. To keep a balance between the two areas, considering their singularities, it is necessary a multidisciplinary approach
which, discussing conceptual and methodological approaches and differences, leads to the possibility of a critical analysis of this relation. The researcher has to move between the two perspectives, showing competence and capacity to establish links between them. This dialogue allows approaches of phenomenon, as the meditation practice. This experience proposes movements that get closer of the phenomenological
method proposals, as used in psychological investigations. Approaches and differences between meditation shown by christian exegetic and the
phenomenological method in psychology, allows to emphasize the necessity of semantic differentiation.
