TV Escola: reaction of elementary school teachers

Abstract

The reactions ofteachers from a specific project of teachers' staff capacity, developded by Government
ofSão Paulo called TV Escola, are subject from the present resource. Third Three elementary teachers from public schools, most female, answered the open and cIosed questions spontaneously after partipating on TV Escola in a couty from São Paulo. The resoults indicated pleasent reaction, in general, in the project itself. The TV Escola was mainly viewed by its future winnings for teacher's work. Allthough, some positive and negative aspects about the project were mentioned. It was
avaliated by the majority ofthe subjects useful and capable ofhelpping to improve the teachers. The problems mentioned, were related to the programms conttents technical-bureaucrat aspects. Finally, the teachers reacted positivelly to TV Escola and indicated the necessity of its pursuit.
