Abstract

The bioconversion of D-sorbitol to L-sorbose is a important reaction of ascorbic acid from glucose, which the best yields were carry out with the Gluconobacter suboxydans bacterium. There are several avaiable materiais ln this process, with potential growth-promoting (biostimulating) properties, which may be composed of plant ar microbial materiais, some of these belonging to industrial waste. The substrates utilizated for the batch culture of Gluconobacter suboxydans were formulated with baker's yeasts ar com steep liquor worked up by different methods. The culture media assayed showed hopeful and their issues were compatible with the culture utilizing standard media.
