Describes the scientific production present at the Annual Summary of Investigations Relating to Reading (1989-1994) in relation to the knowledge areas, what is being researched in Sociology of Reading in order to detect the research space about Social and Cultural influences. Appear as areas of high frequency of research: Physiology and Psychology of Reading; Teaching of reading and Sociology of Reading. In the last one destach the Content Analysis and Literacy, being low the production concerning social and cultural
influences. Only seven works appear with preponderance of the interface school-comunity study, being subjects the adult, survey design and the quantitative analysis.
