Abstract

Analyses dissertations and theses presented at public health graduation courses from 1990to 1994, in the institutes: Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública da Fundação Oswaldo Cruz
(ENSPIFIOCRUZ), Faculdade de Saúde Pública da Universidade de
São Paulo (FSP/LTSP), and Instituto de Medicina Social da Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (IMS/UERJ). It refers to the levei of dissemination of dissertations and theses ilil specialized data bases and its publication in other formats üournal articles, books, etc.). Itwas
verified tliat 83.1%of the dissertations andtheses were indexed in the field data bases. Only 27.1%of them were published in other formats. Some suggestions were made to improve the dissemination of this
literature as information sources.
