Brazilian architecture is now through an evident identity crisis. Once the superficial seduction from the post-modern movement is lost (in Rossi’s or Venturi ways), it is evident now the nostalgically trials of returning to the “good old days” in a way simplified by formal conductions or by concepts worn down from its initial meanings. The search of new values in architecture is vital in these times of perplexity through the disciplines obsolescence. Values that comes from the accurate study of history, of the contemporary references, of technology’s development,
of the cultural and social nowadays facts; and then to the comprehension of project
as a process-invention-answer. In this context the city must be understood as premise beyond the physical, geographic and cultural limits – these now matches with the new times where to real space (rizomatic), the design (or form) is no longer sufficient as an intervention. This paper, through other forms of reading and making architecture, suggests alternatives and stands out the importance of a review.
