Alternative HBIM-GIS modeling process

This article proposes improvements to the digital reconstruction process of architectural heritage by integrating Building Information Modelling and Geographic Information Systems. As a sample space, we adopt the face of block CH89, located near Visconde do Rio Branco Square in Belém, Pará. We adopted the digital reconstruction synthesis framework as our starting point. In this way, the research evaluated the parameters — software used, processing time, file size, format, geometry, and texture — for each workflow instantiated, according to the data processing sub-processes. With the proposed workflow, it was possible to enhance data processing by incorporating sub-processes for integrating a generic Heritage Building Information Modelling model into a Geographic Information Systems environment.
