Le Corbusier, Niemeyer and Salmona:
atavisms and reinterpretations

Le Corbusier, Niemeyer and Salmona shared the precepts of Modern architecture however, until today, they have never been studied simultaneously. Their message is strong and convincing, but it seems to have been diluted, as current projects do not necessarily reflect their greatness. By choosing three paradigmatic works of these masters, an attempt was made to scrutinize their features in order to decipher their intentions, relationships and analyze the typologies associated with previous times.Unprecedented analytical categories were created based in Eisenman, as it is believed that through this prism it is possible to thoroughly examine their particularities. The result of these three architects’ projects is not only a shift from rationalism to organicism per se, but by appealing to sui generis spatial experimentation and a full-bodied framework of references, they have managed to consolidate characteristics intrinsic to local and universal culture. The formal proposals have a myriad of singularities that overcome orthodox references. It is concluded that the assertive and underlying messages that must be recovered to aim at a potential enhancement of spatial qualification.
