Abstract

Based on the experience of immersion in the studio of Fernanda Yamamoto an artist-creator, nationally and internationally recognized in the fashion world, this article discusses the way in which the creative processes, in that context and conditions, were intertwined with the research process. Information was collected via observations, informal conversations and interviews, which were recorded in a field diary. The analyses were based on Bakhtinian architecture and, characterizing the contemporary fashion system as a complex system that responds to the demands of innovation in a volatile and voracious market, built by the tense interaction of different social voices, the research made it possible to understand and move senses that weave nthe dialogue between Fernanda Yamamoto’s production and the fields of art, fashion and life. The results contribute to the tension of prevailing narrative about artists and the creation processes and make other stories visible in the field of fashion, research and life.
