Resumo

Os distúrbios mentaisna infância vêm sendo extensamente estudadosnos últimos anos,devidoaoseu impacto sobre a criança e toda família. Adepressãoé considerada um dos problemasmaisfreqüentes na práticaclínica. Este artigo é uma revisão sobre o assunto e inclui considerações gerais, definição e diagnóstico, modelos teóricos, prevalência e tratamento da depressão na infância.
