Abstract

Bion presented the "thinking machine" basically as a continent relating itself with its contained parts through a mecanism of projecting identification, postulated by Melanie Klein. In this elaboration, the contained parts, naturally dispersed, combine themselves into a whole in a sense that reaches the consciousness as a fact selected among the possibles ones. Two aplications of the model is also considered: the relation between the mother and the baby and the relation between the group and the "mistic”.
