Abstract

Objective

A study was carried out with the objective of describing the sleeping pattern of university students, as well as analyzing the sleep characteristics of this population on weekends.
Methodology
42 students from an undergraduate course at the State University of Campinas participated in this research. Two questionnaires were used, one to collect personal and professional information and data relating to general health status and the other to evaluate the sleep-wake cycle (sleep diary).
Results
The results showed that although students went to sleep later on weekends, they woke up feeling better. It was found that of the total, only eight worked in activities at the University and in hospitals in Campinas. The aspect regarding sleep quality was evaluated as good.

Conclusion
It was found that the activities carried out during the week did not alter the students' sleeping patterns.
