ETHNOZOOLOGY IN BRAZIL: A BIBLIOGRAPHICAL VIEW

This paper is an up to date review ofthe extensive literature on studies in the area of etbnozoology carried out in Brazil, and which were published until December 1999. It lists 246 titles including books, chapters ofbooks, articles from scientific journals, abstracts of presentations at meetings and conferences, academic theses, dissertations, monographs, and didactic-scientific reports. The most surveyed ethnozoo/ogica/ subjects are zootherapy (21%), ethnoicthyology (15%), ethnoentomology (] 4%), ethnomastozoology (9%), ethnotaxonomy (8%), and hunting activity (8%).
