Abstract

The paper presents a work involving education, research and practice undertaken by professors and researchers of Housing and Human Settlements Laboratory from Architecture and Planning Department of University of São Paulo, undergraduate students of the Department, members of Public Attorney and practitioners from municipalities of São Paulo Metropolitan Area. It consists in an experimental activity aiming to develop urban projects to poor, unlicensed and environmentally inadequate settlements in the protection area of water catchments at São Paulo, to make them sustainable and possible to reach juridical regularization.
