VINHEDO: RURAL SPACES AND RURALITY

This article deals with the main changes and new actors that now integrate the rural world in Vinhedo. As the farms have a non productive use and are transformed in country houses of all kinds, the “caseiro” becomes an important job alternative not only for the rural workers of the region, but also for workers from other states, mainly Paraná and Mato Grosso. The article empathizes the pluriactivity among these families and the different kinds of home care takers. Deals also with the introduction of tourism in the region and the importance of rural space as a place for living.
