BEHA VIOR ALIMENTA TION OF COEREBA F LA VEOLATA (COEREBIDAE) IN MALVISCUS ARBOREUS (MALVACEAE) IN SÃO PAULO, CITY, BRAZIL

The feeding behavior of native birds in exotic plant species is not well known. The aim of this study is to verify the behavior of Coereba flaveola in Malvaviscus arboreus f/owers. The bird does not act as pollinator of the plant species, but consumes nectar and insects. lnterspecific and intraspecific aggressions were not observed among the individuais. The great number of visits by C. flaveola indicates the small availabity of plant species in the city.
