Abstract

Here we discuss a little treated question in Brazil, invertebrates, with respect to their conservation value and as environmental indicators. Spiders and ants, the major regulators of insect populations, respond to landscape perturbations, with radical changes in ecological diversity and abundances. As the spatial scales of landscape perturbations caused by man are dominated by agricultura! endeavors, their effect on spiders and ants is considered in different scales as natural regulators of pest outbreak species.
