Nota sobre o hermafroditismo em 3 espécies de serranidae do litoral de São Paulo (peixes, perciformes)
Abstract
The harmaphroditic pattern in three Serranidae species from the north coast of São Paulo (Diplectrum radiale, D. formosum and Dules aurigal was histologically described. It was observed that the testicular tissue
develops at a given moment of. female stage, inside the connective ovarian wall. The testicular tissuedoesn't replace the ovarian one; in adults, they occur simultaneously, andstructurally these fishes may
present self.fertilization. In this region, these three species belong to the Serranus hermaphroditism type (from Smith; 1965), perhaps the most
primitive pattern of Serranidae hermaphroditism.
